The Advance-Decline Line(ADLine) is the most popular Advance-Decline indicator. It displays the cumulative total of the Advancing-Declining Issues indicator.
It is better to look at the trend rather than the value of the indicator. Advance-Decline Line of a market (such as NYSE or NASDAQ) moves with the price of the market index. You should look for the agreement to confirm price trend.
Calculation:
ADLine = (ADV – DEC) + PrevADLine
ADV = The number of advancing issues
DEC = The number of declining issues
PrevADLine = Previous value of the indicator
